Douglas & Bec A Family Business Architecture & Design
Douglas and Bec - first established under the name Workroom Design - has been producing furniture and lighting since 2006. Designer Bec Dowie started the business with her father Douglas Snelling, and the pair were later joined by Bec's husband Paul Dowie.

The six-piece collection, titled Bedroom, is the latest from father-daughter team Douglas Snelling and Bec Dowie, who continue to successfully grow their furniture and lighting design business in New Zealand and across the ditch. Each piece is made by local craftspeople, and Douglas himself. Inspiration for the design comes from a treasured family possession of Bec's, a mahogany Queen Anne.

Douglas and Bec now has four locations - a studio, workshop and office in Auckland, and a showroom in Melbourne - with a growing staff of talented individuals. Furniture and Lighting design studio Douglas & Bec have released their latest collection which encompasses a range of freestanding lamps entitled 'Pare' and their first foray into sofa's, the RD sofa and RD half sofa.. The Pare lamps were inspired by the work of regionalist painters Rita Angus and Christopher Perkins, and feature playful geometric proportions, rich materials and a new earthy.
